Say this… Instead of that…

Many times we have no idea what to say to our kids when they’re struggling and we may feel helpless and overwhelmed.

This is why I’ve created this list of suggestions. When you’re at a loss for words, you might end up saying something that will make your child feel judged and cause them to shut down even more.

Try swapping what we as parents tend to say with what your child wants to hear…

Try some of these phrases next time you talk with your child.

It may feel awkward at first, but eventually you’ll find the words that allow your child to know they can trust you because they won’t feel judged.
