These Terms of Service govern the access to and use of thelisteningcounselor.com (the “Website”) and the provision of counseling services by The Listening Counselor.
Accessing or using the Website constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.
1. Services
The Listening Counselor provides online counseling services and educational support for parents of adolescents, aimed at strengthening communication and family relationships. Services are delivered exclusively online.
2. Professional Credentials
Services are provided by a licensed Clinical Psychologist in El Salvador, practicing in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
3. Exclusion of Emergency Services
The services provided do not constitute emergency care or crisis intervention.
In cases of immediate risk, suicidal ideation, or mental health emergencies, users must contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
4. No Professional Relationship Automatically Established
Use of the Website, sending communications, or scheduling appointments does not automatically create a counselor–client professional relationship.
Such a relationship is formally established only after:
Completion of required intake and informed consent forms
Express agreement to commence services
5. Limitations of Online Therapeutic Services
Users acknowledge that online counseling services have inherent limitations, including possible technological failures and restrictions in emergency response.
6. Fees, Payments, and Cancellations
Fees are disclosed prior to service engagement
Payments are processed via PayPal
Payment is required in advance
Cancellation and refund policies are communicated before service commencement
Unjustified absence may result in forfeiture of fees.
7. International Users
Users accessing services from outside El Salvador are responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws regarding online counseling services.
8. Intellectual Property
All Website content, including text, images, logos, and materials, is the exclusive property of The Listening Counselor and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Listening Counselor is not liable for:
Decisions or actions taken by users outside sessions
False, incomplete, or inaccurate information provided by users
Technical failures beyond reasonable control
10. Suspension or Termination of Services
Services may be suspended or terminated when ethically, professionally, or legally appropriate, in accordance with the Psychologist Code of Ethics of El Salvador.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of El Salvador, and any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of the country.
